“Joyous Victory”
Scripture: Psalm 35:9 KJV

“And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: It shall rejoice in his salvation.”

Devotion:
In today’s Scripture, David concludes his plea to God to deliver him from the hands of his enemies. He is letting God know he trusts Him to give him the victory over his enemies, and his response to that victory will be one of joyous praise. The key to Psalm 35, I believe, is David's faith that God could and would give him the victory. David knew that his response to that victory should be a posture of praise. As stated in the previous devotional, David was a worshiper and a praiser, no matter the situation. When he lost his son because of sin, he anointed himself with oil and went to the house of the Lord to worship God. I can’t even imagine being able to do that in the face of such grief. However, I believe David trusted God enough to say, I will worship You because I know Your will was done. When should we rejoice? When should we praise and worship God? When our bank accounts are full? When things are going well? I believe God wants us to get to a place where praise and worship is our daily posture before Him, because it is what we were created to do!

Prayer:
Lord, help us praise You at all times. Help us to daily seek Your face no matter what we are going through. Let our posture be one of praise and worship. Amen.
