"Faith Beyond Sight"
Scripture: 1 Peter 1:8-9

"Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls."

Devotion:
In this Scripture Peter was writing to Christians facing suffering, persecution, and uncertainty. He encouraged them (and us today) that salvation is at work in us, and the end of our faith journey is eternal life with Jesus. He is saying in this Scripture that even though we have not seen Jesus face to face, we love Him, we believe in Him, and we are filled with joy. Have you ever imagined loving someone you have never seen? -- well you and I have this very awesome experience. It is through our faith that we have confidence and believe in God and in His promises that we read about. With faith we don’t rely on what we see or understand; but faith is built on trust, trusting in who God is, His promises, and His plan for our lives. When we experience this kind of faith, we find a joy that is unexplainable. We can be encouraged that when we live by God’s plan for our lives, even when we don’t fully understand, we have made the very best decision.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of faith. Even though I have never seen You with my eyes, I believe in You with all my heart. Lord, help me to hold on to the joy that comes from knowing You, a joy that goes beyond words, even in the middle of hardship or doubt. Remind me that my faith is not in vain, and that each step I take in trust is leading me closer to the salvation You have promised. Give me strength to keep believing, loving, and walking with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
