“Rejoice in the Lord Always”
Scripture: Psalm 97:12
 
"Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness."

Devotion:
This verse encourages the righteous (those in right standing with God) to find joy in the Lord and to praise His name. The righteous are called to worship and reverence Him. Psalm 29:2 reminds us to "Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness."  So, as righteous believers in God, even when we are experiencing not so good times in life, we are to remember who we serve and give Him thanks.   Also in Psalm 136:1 it reads, “Oh give thanks to the Lord for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” These Scriptures emphasize the importance of giving thanks to our Lord and Savior for His goodness and mercy to us.  We must always endeavor to live a life that reflects our joy in Him and our love for His Holy Name and for His people.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your righteousness and holiness. Help me to rejoice in You, even when things are difficult.  Fill my heart with gratitude for all that You have done for me and let me be a source of Your joy and goodness to others that I encounter. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
