Daily Devotional - Times of Refreshing - WK23 - 6/6/25 - Day 157 - "A Yet Praise"

“A Yet Praise!”
Scripture: Habakkuk 3:17-18 NLT

“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!”

Devotion:
As a young child, I remember we used to have testimony service during numerous services. Every now and again, a saint would testify that they have a “yet praise.” When I reflect on this statement, they were describing some of the things that were happening in their lives, many of them were in desperate situations. But they had a praise to give to God because they felt that God hasn’t come through YET, but He will. Then the church would go up in praise! In today’s text, we are presented with numerous situations that are bleak, dismal, and discouraging. However, the author ends with a declarative statement proclaiming that in spite of all of what is going on, they will continue to delight in God who saved them. Wow! Imagine if we all would give God a YET praise. In spite of what we all are facing, knowing that God hasn’t come through YET, but we all know that He will!

Prayer:
God, You are so great. Regardless of the situation, we have a YET praise, knowing that You will come through. We will continue to rejoice and be thankful for Your great love, and saving us from a life of sin. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
