“Things Are Adding Up!”
Scripture: James 1:2-3 KJV

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”

Devotion:
One thing about believers is that we know how to endure whatever life throws at us. We have the resilience and perseverance to go through our trials. When we go through these life situations, we must continue to consider our perspective. Things aren’t always as bad as they seem, when we put our trust in God. Today’s Scripture is encouragement for this very admonishment. No matter what temptations we fall into, we must consider it all in a cheerful way, because these situations help build our faith and patience; which in turn, build our character. Think for a moment, about all that God has done for you even in this past month. What gave you the justification to endure? It was your previous experiences with our Heavenly Father. Regardless of what was happening, you knew that He would come through. You had enough patience to wait until He answered. That’s growth! Keep building character through finding joy in all situations!

Prayer:
God, You do all things well. Thank You for Your Word admonishing us to stay cheerful in every situation. We ask that You continue to teach us how to build our character through increasing our level of patience. For we know that You ALWAYS come through. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
