“Rest In The Lord”
Scripture: Matthew 11:28 KJV

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Devotion:
Inhale – Exhale. Sometimes all we can do is take a moment to breathe! When life is lifing, when children are wayward, when family is acting funny, when it seems God has turned away from you, it can be a drain and it can cause us to become discouraged. When that business idea you have is slow to gain traction, when the dollar signs don’t add up, when the people are calling you, take a moment to inhale – exhale. Jesus tells us today to simply “Come to Him”. He doesn’t say get your life together, He says come. We can have rest in Jesus. Physical rest, mental rest, emotional rest, financial rest, all the rest you need is in Jesus – You just have to come! When we come to God - which we should often do in the first place, but we don’t – we find out that the situation is not that bad or it’s already worked out or it wasn’t something we needed. However, when we continue to try to fix it ourselves instead of trusting it to the Lord, we mess it up and then want God to clean it up! No, bad Saints! Come to Jesus, give Him the problem, and REST!

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for always having our back. Thank You for giving us rest even when we tried to do Your job. Help us to remember that we can trust You with anything and to remember that You alone can give us rest! Thank You for Your Rest! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
