Daily Devotional - Reflection: Lest We Forget - WK21 - 5/21/25 - Day 141 - "All Things New"

“All Things New”
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV 
 
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
 
Devotion:
I love to shop, it’s a habit I inherited from my mother. It’s just something about getting that Amazon package laid so carelessly on the ground in front of your front door that makes your heart leap with joy. Or going into the store and buying something new, shiny, and fresh. The word new in itself brings to mind a positive connotation of something good and desirable. When we think of natural new things we get excited, so just think how excited we should get over the newness that God gives us once we receive the gift of salvation. Today’s Scripture lets us know that once we receive the gift of salvation our old man has passed away, and we are new creatures in the Lord. That means when the old nasty stinking devil tries to bring up our past to discourage us or make us feel ashamed, we step on his head and let him know that we have been redeemed and washed in the blood of the Lamb. God as the master potter and our creator desires to make us new. The key to that newness is we have to stay on His will so that He can mold and make us into vessels of honor that builds God’s kingdom.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for making us new and purging us from all unclean things. Thank You for keeping our minds stayed on You. Amen.
