“It’s a Blessing in the Pressing”
Scripture: Philippians 3:13-14 NIV

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Devotion:
Sometimes in this journey of life we get physically, mentally, and emotionally drained. We get weary, and we feel like giving up. Nevertheless, just like a runner in a race knows that if they continue to press and push through to the finish line there is victory up ahead, we too must remember that through the valley and the wilderness experiences of life, we have the victory. Sometimes we may have to press to make it through, but the blessing is that we are not pressing alone. God is with us! The real blessing in the pressing is that we don’t do anything by our own power, might, or strength, but through the power of God. We have to rely on God to renew and strengthen us daily by staying in His presence. One thing that I have found to be true is the more I seek, worship, and lift up the name of Jesus the better I feel. The past is behind us; we can’t go forward looking back. We must continue to press on in Jesus’ name. There is a blessing in the pressing!

Prayer:
Lord, help us to continue to press onward. Please keep us away from the distractions and lies of the enemy that would come and try to deter us from kingdom building business. Amen.
