Daily Devotional - Reflection: Lest We Forget - WK19 - 5/6/25 - Day 126 - "Let It Go and Trust God"

"Let it Go and Trust God"
Scripture: 1 Peter 5:7
 
"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
 
Devotion:
In life we will face overwhelming obstacles.  We have responsibilities, uncertainties, and some personal struggles that can cause us to become anxious. But in this verse, Peter tells us to release all of our care unto God.  He is not telling us to be better managers of it and fix it ourselves, or hide it and pretend that we are not overburdened; no, he says to cast it.  That means we are to give it all to God, to totally surrender it all.  It’s like throwing something heavy off of your shoulders onto someone who is much stronger than you.  Our God is always near and available for us because He cares for us, His children. He is not only willing to take our cares, but He really wants to; and He cares about every part of us.  We have to release the things that weigh us down and trust Him with all of our fears. He tells us in His Word, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 – Let’s not forget how He has shown up for us time and time again. So learn how to put your trust in Him and carry your care to the Father and let Him fix it for You!

Prayer:
Father we come to You in prayer today thanking You for being our burden barer.  We ask that You take away any situation that may cause us to be anxious. Help us to trust You the more and find peace in knowing that You are in control. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
