“Obedience and Faith”
Scripture: Luke 19:32-34 NLT

“So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said.  And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?” And the disciples simply replied, “The Lord needs it.”

Devotion:
Can you imagine having to give up something that you hadn’t had a chance to use yourself? Let’s say a new car. You just purchased your car and there was a need to carry the Saints on a trip because there weren’t any others available. I’m sure you’ll probably have some hesitation since you just purchased it, and you really don’t want to get it messed up with a lot of people. At least not right now. But you understand the bigger picture. It’s for ministry.

Often times, when the Lord blesses us with things, it’s just not for us to keep to ourselves. It’s for Him to use to provide a service to His people and His servants. Just like in our Scripture. The owner asked the disciples why they were taking the colt, as it had not yet been weaned from its mother. I’m sure he didn’t want to let it go; but when the disciples said, “The Lord needs it” all his concerns went away. Obedience and faith goes a long way with God.

Prayer:
Lord, help me trust in Your plans, even when I don’t see the full picture. Give me the courage to walk in obedience and the assurance that You are guiding my steps. Strengthen my faith to follow You with confidence. Amen.
