“Waiting for His Glory”
Scripture: Isaiah 26:8

"Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee."

Devotion:
Isaiah 26:8 invites us into a posture of longing and expectation as we wait on the Lord. It’s a call to align our hearts with His will, not driven by the urgency of our desires but by the deep yearning for His name and His glory. In the midst of life's trials and challenges, we are reminded that our true desire should not be for temporal things, but for the remembrance of God’s holiness and majesty. Waiting on God in this way is not passive; it is an active, deliberate choice to trust in His plans and to seek His presence above all else.

As we walk in His ways, our hearts should echo the desire of the prophet: that God's name would be glorified and His purpose fulfilled in our lives. Waiting for the Lord transforms our perspective—it teaches us that true fulfillment comes not from what we receive, but from the relationship we cultivate with Him. Let us, then, wait in faith, desiring His name above all, trusting that His plans for us are good and will be revealed in His perfect timing.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to keep our hearts aligned with You and Your Word. Help us to know that we seek a higher calling, not just earthly things. May we remember that our lives are wrapped up, tangled up and twisted up in YOU! Keep us as we go through and strengthen us until You return.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
