“Building in Love, Waiting in Hope”
Scripture: Jude 1:20-21

“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”

Devotion:
Jude calls us to a purposeful and active faith, urging us to build ourselves up on the most holy faith that has been entrusted to us. This spiritual growth is not passive but requires us to pray in the Holy Spirit and remain firmly rooted in God’s love. By intentionally nurturing our relationship with Him through prayer and faith, we are equipped to withstand the trials and distractions of life. Our personal faith is strengthened as we build on the foundation of Christ’s love, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are reminded that God is present with us in every moment.

In addition to building ourselves up, Jude reminds us to look forward in eager anticipation to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. The waiting is not aimless or without purpose; it is a hopeful and expectant waiting for the eternal life He has promised. As we continue in our faith, we keep our eyes on the prize—His mercy, which will one day bring us into eternal life with Him. This hope sustains us in our daily walk, motivating us to keep ourselves in His love and continue building up our faith as we await His return. It is through this dynamic relationship with God that we find strength and joy in the journey.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to continue to nurture our relationship with You. Just as the flowers of the fields need water and sun, so do we need prayer and faith in You. Help us to continue to look to You knowing that You are with us always until You return to take us home. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
