“Morning Conversations with God”
Scripture: Psalm 5:3

"My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up."

Devotion:
Each morning is a new beginning, a chance to start the day grounded in God’s presence. David’s words in Psalm 5:3 serve as a reminder of the importance of beginning our day with prayer and intentional focus on God. In the quiet of the morning, before the demands of the world can overwhelm us, we have an opportunity to direct our hearts to God. David committed to offering his voice to God first thing in the day, a practice that helps align his thoughts and actions with God’s will. The psalmist didn’t rush into his tasks or anxieties; instead, he chose to wait for God’s guidance and strength, acknowledging that only in God’s presence could he find peace and direction.

Our mornings hold great potential for shaping the rest of our day, and Psalm 5:3 calls us to approach them with purpose and expectation. Just as David "looked up" to God, we too are invited to lift our eyes from our circumstances and focus on the One who hears our prayers. To pray in the morning isn’t just about asking God for help, but about trusting that He is listening, waiting to guide us. When we take time each morning to direct our prayers to God and wait for His response, we cultivate a deeper relationship with Him. Lord, talking with You is the most rewarding, most comforting, most breathtaking experience known to man. Help us to savor the quiet moments with You and to continue to make time and room for You in our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
