“The Strength of Stillness”
Scripture: Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
 
Devotion:
In our fast-paced world, waiting is often seen as a weakness or a waste of time. Yet, Isaiah 40:31 reveals that true strength is found in the act of waiting upon the Lord. To wait on God is not passive; it’s a deliberate choice to trust in His timing and to rest in His presence. This waiting isn’t about doing nothing—it’s about seeking God’s guidance, surrendering our anxieties, and acknowledging our need for His strength. When we wait on the Lord in faith, He promises to renew our strength, transforming our weariness into vitality. Just as an eagle soars effortlessly on the wind, God lifts us above life’s challenges, giving us the energy to endure.

This divine renewal is not just for moments of exhaustion; it is an invitation to live with supernatural endurance. Isaiah tells us that those who wait upon the Lord will not only run and not be weary but will also walk and not faint. In times of trials and everyday struggles, we find that God’s strength sustains us. We don’t have to rely on our own ability to power through; instead, we draw on His limitless grace and strength. As we wait on God, He equips us to face every day with renewed courage, steady feet, and the assurance that He is with us every step of the way.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to see that waiting is necessary – necessary to see You work, necessary to see You show Yourself mighty, just necessary! Help me to learn to wait and to draw from Your strength. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
