“Wait on the Lord”
Scripture: Psalm 27:13-14, NIV
 
“I remain confident in this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Devotion:
We live in a fast-paced society that focuses on instant gratification. We can click a button and instantly have food, clothes, and household items delivered to us in a matter of minutes or days. Instacart, Amazon, Uber Eats, DoorDash, you name it; we have it at our disposal. However, with the things of the Lord, we can’t hurry God along or expect Him to move the way we want Him to in our lives. We have to pray a prayer of faith and believe that God is working ALL things out for our good because He is.

Today’s scripture is letting us know we will see the goodness of the Lord while we are still living. We just have to wait patiently on the Lord. I don’t know what you are facing today or what you have been going through, but I just want to encourage you this morning to hold on a little while longer and keep the faith. God’s Word will not return to Him void if He said He was going to do it. Then it is already done! You have the victory today. I don’t care what it feels like or looks like or how backwards this world seems to be going. Stand flat-footed and assured that God is working ALL things out for your good, and His goodness and mercy are chasing after you. Wait on the Lord and watch Him turn your situation around.

Prayer:
Lord, help us humbly submit to Your will for our lives and wait on You. Take away the need to act hastily or for instant gratification. Allow us to wait only for You. Amen.
