“Holy and Acceptable Unto God”
Scripture: Romans 12:1

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

Devotion:
In Romans 12:1, the Apostle Paul calls believers to present their bodies as "a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God." The life we live should be a reflection of God’s holiness, aligning our hearts and actions with His will. "Holy" means being set apart for God’s purposes. Holiness is not just about moral purity but about being dedicated entirely to God, living in a way that reflects His character. Paul points out that this is "reasonable service." In other words, when we truly understand the depth of God’s mercy toward us, living a life of holiness is not an extreme request, but a natural response to His great love. God, in His mercy, saved us and called us into relationship with Him. Our response is to offer our lives back to Him in worship and service. A life that is "acceptable unto God" is one that pleases Him, aligning our actions, thoughts, and desires with His will.

Living in a way that is holy and acceptable to God requires intentionality. When we make choices that honor Him—whether in our words, our actions, or our relationships—we are presenting our bodies as living sacrifices. Being holy and acceptable to God also means rejecting the world's standards. Living holy and acceptable to God is not about striving for perfection, but about a continual surrender to His will. Every day, as we remember His mercy, we are empowered to live lives that honor Him, becoming more like Him in all that we do.

Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for Your mercy and grace that has saved me. I want to live a life that is holy and acceptable to You. Help me to surrender my desires, my actions, and my thoughts to You. Show me areas where I can grow in holiness, and give me the strength to live in a way that honors You. May my life be a living sacrifice, pleasing to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
