Scriptural Reflection
And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. - Job 42:10

Devotional Thought
I was always have to wonder if Job had to go through as long as he did. One thing we do know, things changed for him once he got the revelation to pray for his friends. Job’s act of praying for his friends demonstrates the power of forgiveness and intercession. Even though his friends had been harsh and wrong in their judgment of him, Job chose to pray for their well-being. This teaches us that even in times of personal hardship, we are called to love and pray for others, especially those who may have wronged us. In the interest of God honoring the Job’s patience, persistence and prayer he got double in return of EVERYTHING he lost.

Prayer
I thank You for the example of Job, who, even in the midst of his suffering, chose to pray for those who had hurt him. I ask for the strength and grace to forgive those who have wronged me and to intercede on behalf of others, even when I am in pain or facing difficulty. Lord, teach me to trust You with my circumstances, and help me to remember that You are always working in ways I cannot see. Just as You restored Job, I believe You can turn any situation around for Your glory. Help me to walk in obedience, faith, and love, knowing that You are faithful to complete the work You’ve started in me. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
