Day 17 Friday 3/21 - Leave Them Be

Scriptural Reflection
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. - Matthew 15:14

Devotional Thought
Blind leaders, whether spiritually, morally, or intellectually, cannot offer true guidance. They are lost themselves, which means they cannot lead others toward a place of truth, purpose, or wisdom. Those who follow them are likely to end up lost as well, wandering in darkness.

Both the blind leader and the follower are at risk of falling into a "pit". The pit represents the consequences of following misguided individuals, whether they lead to harm, confusion, or spiritual devastation. The tragedy, then, is not just about the loss of direction but also the compounding of ignorance, error, and ultimately destruction for both the leaders and those who choose to follow them without seeking the truth.

In the words of Kenny Rogers in The Gambler… “You've got to know when to hold 'em. Know when to fold 'em. Know when to walk away. And know when to run…”

Prayer
Lord, grant me the patience to wait on You, and the courage to surrender control when I need to. Help me recognize that sometimes, stepping back and allowing You to work is the most powerful thing I can do. Teach me to rely on Your perfect plan and not to rush ahead of You.
Help me to trust that You are in control, even when I don’t understand the situation. Thank You for Your guidance, Your love, and Your wisdom. In Jesus' name. AMEN.
