“Show Love”
Scripture: Romans 16:16 NIV

“Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings.”

Devotion:
In today’s scripture, Paul was admonishing the people of God to show brotherly love in how they greet each other. In those times, the kiss was a token of peace, friendship, and brotherly love. It was frequent among all people; and the Christians used it in their public assemblies, as well as in their occasional meetings. We may greet each other differently today. However, how we greet our fellow brothers and sisters is still important. We can’t base it on who they are, how important we deem them to be, or if we like them or not. It must be based solely on us showing them the same love that God shows us daily. In every sector of our lives, jobs, families, and even churches, there are cliques that join and form small entities from the larger group. We might not like to admit it, but truth be told, we all have people we feel more comfortable around. However, that doesn't mean that we only speak to or greet our select group and leave everyone else out. Jesus didn't stay among His disciples and neglect those around Him. He showed love to the masses. God is calling us to do the same. Love isn’t love until you give it away.

Prayer:
God, thank You for Your unconditional love. Help us show that love to others in how we greet, treat, and speak to them.
