“Fear and Trembling”
Scripture: Psalm 2:11

“Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling”.

Devotion:
Fear is a word often associated with negative connotations. When people hear or say the word fear, it is often something has gone wrong, something is going wrong or they believe something will go wrong. Our scripture today is far from that. Our scripture today talks about our relationship with God. This fear is not negative. It is an awe or reverence for the majesty and sovereignty and the greatness of who God is and what He can do. This fear is knowing that God is in control, that God has our back as long as we stay in His Will and sometimes even when we don’t. This fear is knowing that each day we are here, God gives us grace and mercy that we don’t deserve. This fear is knowing the Power of God and understanding that we don’t have to be afraid of God, we just have to realize the awesomeness of God.

Rejoice is a word that we use to show our gratitude and appreciation to God. We don’t have to actually be trembling, we just have to be aware. We have to know and show that we understand the greatness of God. Our life is not our own, we are simply stewards of what God has created. Understand the power of God and share it with someone else. His greatness is to be celebrated!

Prayer:
Lord, You are a Great Big God! We thank You each and every day for Your awesomeness. We pray that everyone we encounter can see You in us! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
