“The Sacrifice of Praise”
Scripture: Hebrews 13:15

“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the
fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”

Devotion:
Happy Thanksgiving Saints! We have officially made it to the day that we set aside to be
thankful to God for His blessings to us. Although this is the day that our country has 
designated for Thanksgiving, we do not have to just offer God thanks on this day only. The
scripture today is one that encourages us to continually offer God a sacrifice of praise.

So, as we gather around the table today with our family and loved ones, let us be
thankful for the blessings He has given to us. Let us also remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross to allow us the opportunity to be saved and to live life in abundance. Let us also remember to pray for those who may have loved ones who are no longer with them at the table this year. Pray that God will give them peace and comfort. Let’s also pray for someone who you may assume is also well that may be suffering in silence. Let us always be ready and willing to give God the sacrifice of praise by the fruit of our lips. After all, He is the reason for the season, and it is He who has allowed us to see this day and to commemorate it by giving thanks to Him. I pray that we all have a safe and enjoyable day of praise, thanks, and celebration.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for allowing us to see another Thanksgiving Day. Thank You for
life, health, and every blessing You’ve sent our way. As we gather today, let us all
remember to put You first in our celebrations and to remember Your sacrifice so that we
may bring You a sacrifice of praise. Bless us all. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
