Daily Devotional - A Time of Gratitude - WK48 - 11/25/24 - Day 309 "Follow Jesus"

“Follow Jesus”
Scripture: Colossians 2:6

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him”

Devotion:
Once we realize that we have received victory in Jesus Christ, we can declare in the
words of the hymn, “I have decided to follow Jesus. No turning back.” Praise God!
In our scripture today, we find Paul speaking to the Church at Colossae. He is teaching
them and encouraging them to begin a new life in Christ. New life in Christ starts once
we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. I am sure that we have heard the older saints
begin their testimonies with the words “Giving honor to God who is the head of my life.”
When we accept Christ as the head our lives, this means we have Him as leader over
everything that we say and do. We must accept His leadership in our lives daily by being
rooted and grounded in faith. Christ wants to guide us and help us with all our life’s
decisions and challenges.        
           
Once we make up in our minds to truly let Christ be the head of our lives, we have an
opportunity to be led by the best and to live, as the young people say, our best lives.
Remember, Jesus loved us enough to sacrifice himself so that we can have a free and
victorious life in Him. Why not decide to follow Him and allow Him to lead us all the way
to glory?

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for being our perfect example and leader. Help us to fully trust You and
accept Your instruction in our lives. We know that if we follow Your word and Your will for
our lives, we can live fully and freely. In Jesus ‘name. Amen.
