“Thank God for Victory"
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:57

“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Devotion:
Praise God and Happy Thanksgiving week Saints. Many of us are preparing to gather
with family and loved ones to celebrate the holidays, but as we enter into this
celebratory week, let us begin by giving God the thanks and praise for giving us the
victory. Yes, we have the victory in Jesus.

Our scripture today serves as a reminder of God’s love and provision for us through
His only begotten son. It may not be Resurrection season, but we are always to
remember the sacrifice of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. It is through Him that we
have been saved and delivered from our sinful ways, and Saints, that is something to
be truly thankful for. Death has been defeated and we have hope beyond the grave. His
love has given us eternal life. Through His sacrifice we have assurance that there is
nothing we cannot overcome in our lives. The words of the worship song ring true.,
“Hallelujah, you have won the victory. Hallelujah, you have won it all for me.” Saints, He
absolutely won it all for you and me.

We can rejoice and be thankful for the fact that we not only have life, but we have it
more abundantly. Sometimes, we are caught up in the festivities of the holiday, but we
should keep in mind that Jesus is the reason for each and every season. When we
reflect on His love for us and His sacrifice to save our lives, we realize that we as
believers have so much to really thank God for.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for this season in which You’ve given us to reflect and give You
Thanks for Your many blessings. We thank You for giving us the victory in our lives
through Your son Jesus Christ. Because of Him, we are able to live in the fullness of
Your love. Bless us, In Jesus’ name. Amen.
