“A Heart Ruled By God”
Scripture: Colossians 3:15

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”

Devotion:
Today’s verse calls us to experience the peace that only Christ can provide, a peace that doesn’t come from a perfect life or worry-free days, but from allowing Christ to dwell in our hearts. This peace is more than calmness; it’s a deep assurance of God’s presence and love, even when life gets turbulent. When Christ’s peace "rules" in our hearts, it governs our thoughts, reactions, and choices, helping us handle life’s challenges with grace.

This verse also reminds us that we’re called to be united as members of one body. Whether in our families, churches, or communities, we’re encouraged to live in harmony, forgiving one another, showing patience, and supporting each other. Letting Christ’s peace rule in us means bringing peace to others around us.

Lastly, the verse ends with, "And be ye thankful." Gratitude shifts our perspective from what we lack to the blessings we have, inviting joy and contentment. Today, let’s take a moment to thank God for His peace, His presence, and the community He’s placed us in.

Application:
When you feel stress or worry today, pause, and say a short prayer, inviting Christ’s peace to fill your heart. Also, take a moment to express gratitude for someone in your life who brings you peace or encouragement.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of Your peace. Help me let Your peace rule in my heart today. May it shape how I respond to others and guide me in all I do. Thank You for the people You've placed in my life. May I be a source of peace to them as You are to me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
