“Giving Thanks in All Circumstances”
Scripture: I Thessalonians 5:18

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

Devotion:
It’s easy to be grateful when life is going smoothly. But what about when things are hard, confusing, or even painful? 1 Thessalonians 5:18 challenges us to give thanks in all circumstances—not just in the good times, but in every situation. This doesn't mean we need to feel grateful for every difficulty, but rather, we are called to trust that God is with us in all circumstances and can use every situation to grow us, even when we don’t understand.

When we practice gratitude, we’re reminded of God’s faithfulness and constant presence. Giving thanks shifts our focus from what we lack to who He is and what He provides. Gratitude allows us to see blessings, no matter how small, and builds our faith as we remember all He has done for us.

Application:
Think of one difficult situation you’re currently facing. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong, take a moment to thank God for His presence and any small blessings you can find. Keep a journal this week of the things you're grateful for and see how it impacts your perspective.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to see Your hand at work in every situation I face today. Give me a heart that chooses gratitude, even when life is challenging. Remind me of Your faithfulness and teach me to trust that You are always near, using every circumstance for my good. Amen.
