"The Knowledge of Truth"
Scripture: 1 Timothy 2:4

“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come into the knowledge of the truth.”

Devotion: What is truth? Truth is defined as that which is in accordance with fact or reality. We know that the word of God is true. We know that Jesus came from a virgin, died on the cross and rose again. We know that we are saved by grace. There are a lot of things which we know to be true. Let’s bring it all together. To be a disciple of Christ means to know the truth, believe the truth, live the truth, and spread the truth. It’s not enough to just know the truth. Knowledge is good; however we want to have wisdom, which is the practical application of knowledge. It’s not enough to know and believe the truth. Knowing and believing in something only benefits the person that knows it. It’s not just enough to know, believe and live the truth. Yes, our lives should reflect Christ and yes, someone is watching us; however, at some point we are going to have to reach out to others to help them get to where we are. We have to know the truth in order to believe the truth which leads to us living the truth and spreading the truth. Say that five times fast!! Our mission on this earth is to spread the gospel to every corner of the world. Matthew 28:19-20 – the Great Commission – gives us our orders and we must follow those orders until the day of the Lord.

Prayer: Lord, we thank You for the knowledge of the truth. Help us to exercise wisdom and to not just gain knowledge. Help us to fulfill our part in the Great Commission to help bring the gospel to every corner of the world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
