 “Teach and Baptize”
Scripture: Matt. 28:18-20
 
“18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”(KJV)

Devotion: When we receive orders from our Commander, we are already equipped to move forward in combat. The military will not go into battle without first being equipped with the necessary power and authority to enter a war or assignment. That authority comes from the one in charge, the equipping comes from the one responsible for training the team. It takes everyone to prepare troops for the battle. Even though the Commander and Chief isn’t there physically, but his word is always with them… go and fight for the country.

That’s how Jesus works. When He commands us to go to battle, He gives us the power and authority from heaven, which is the same power He has. This authority given to us through the Power of Jesus Christ is for us to take the word of God to all the nations. Jesus is calling us to reach beyond our immediate circles and comfort zones, sharing His message of love, grace, and salvation with people from every corner of the world.

Baptism symbolizes the new life found in Christ, and teaching others to obey His commands reflects the ongoing journey of discipleship. .  We have the same power He has through The Holy Spirit. And that power is to baptize those who believe in Him in the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost.

Application: Reflect on how you can actively participate in the Great Commission in your own context. Who in your life can you share the love of Christ with? How can you support global missions, whether through prayer, financial support, or personal involvement. Remember Jesus’ promise that He is with us always, providing the strength and courage needed to fulfill His command.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your authority and Your command to make disciples of all nations. Give us the passion and courage to share Your Gospel with those around us and support efforts to reach people globally. Help us to live out Your teachings and guide others to do the same. Thank You for Your constant presence with us. May we faithfully carry out Your mission, trusting in Your strength and guidance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
