It Wasn’t Written Just to be Written

Scripture: Roman 15:4 - “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

Devotion:  Sometimes people write things down just so they won’t forget them, and sometimes to remember a specific date or event.  But what was written in the Holy Bible, was written for our benefit; so that we can read and learn from it as we go through this journey of life.

As we evolve going through life, we are confronted with all kinds of challenges just as did the prophets of old and the first church. We are blessed that what they went through is for our reading, that we may have hope and comfort, knowing that if He took care of them, He will do the same thing for us.

God never told us that this walk with Him would be easy, but He did promise to be with us along the way.

Prayer:  Father, help us to not only read Your word, but to also trust Your word.  Knowing that whatever you say, You can and will perform it. You are a promise keeper. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
