Healing Power
 
Luke 5:17
17 "And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them."

Devotion:
Jesus is a First-Class physician. As the old saints used to say, “He can heal whatever ails you.” In today’s devotional text, Jesus is teaching, and in the crowd He has Pharisees and great doctors from all over. They came to hear what He had to say. No doubt some were genuinely interested to hear Him, and others were spectators. During His ministry, Jesus drew a crowd everywhere He went, and after He left, nothing was ever left the same. Jesus made an impact like no other. The same is true today. If you truly have an encounter with Jesus, your life will never ever be the same. Jesus has the ultimate power to heal, and that is what was demonstrated in this account. The central theme of this week’s devotion is faith. If we supply the faith, He is able to heal all sickness. I’m sure we can all think of times in our lives when we were sick, some where the doctor told us that there was nothing that he could do. But Jesus, our first-class physician stepped into the room and healed us of our illnesses. What awesome power our God has. If we pray and believe, He will surely touch our bodies with His healing power. Thank you, Jesus!! You are our healer.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for being present with us and for Your healing power. We understand that You are our Master Physician, and there is no manner of sickness that You cannot heal. You are our creator. You made us in Your image. You are able to heal our mind, body & soul. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
