God Gets the Glory

I Cor. 10:31
31" Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

Devotion:
As believers and children of God, we are expected to live a life that glorifies God. As we go about our daily occupations and routines, we should be mindful of our actions. In the late 90s and early 2000’s, there was a popular phrase that said “WWJD,” meaning,
‘What Would Jesus Do?” We must ensure that we represent Christ in what we say and do daily. The scripture for today’s devotion is simple, yet so important. We know in Christ we are granted liberty and given freewill to live. But, aside from our everyday lives, even in our serving within the church, this is the first principle of all godly life. The main object of all life is declared to be, not our own happiness or perfection, not the good of our fellow men, but the “glory of God,” and the carrying out of His will. It’s easy to do things to be seen or to get praises and a pat on the back from men. However, we also must be careful that whatever we do is done so that God is glorified and not us. When we do things to be seen of men, when they recognize and compliment us, then we have received our reward. Saints of God, whatever the assignment or task, whatever we do, let it be done to the glory of God.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for allowing us liberty in You. Help us to honor You in everything that we say and do, so that You will get the glory out of our lives. Help us to be vessels of honor and set apart for Your use. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
