Daily Devotional - Transition to Power - WK23 - 06/01/24 - Day 132 - “Anointing = Truth”

“Anointing = Truth”

“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.” – 1 John 2:27

Devotional:
The anointing is truth. This could be the end of the devotion, but John is reminding us of some of the characteristics of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is truth and teaches us as long as we abide in God. God has given us His anointing, not just to parade it around like a trophy, but to use it in our lives daily. John says we don’t have to depend on man to teach us, because the gift given to us by God will teach us the truth. When we listen to the Holy Ghost, good things happen. In the previous scriptures, John talks about how we know all things. Not that we are super geniuses, but that God has placed in us everything we need to be successful, and we only have to listen.

Imagine having all the answers to the test, but not using them because you “think” you know the answer. That is what happens when the Holy Spirit speaks, and we do not listen. The road to a wealthy place is filled with lumps and bumps and falsehoods and fake people. When we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us, it doesn’t mean the lumps and bumps and falsehoods and fake people will go away, it just means we have an advocate and an intercessor and a warrior in our corner.

As we transition to power listen to the Holy Spirit. It will lead you and guide you and never steer you wrong. Nothing is more powerful than the truth and the anointing is the truth.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the gifts of the Holy Spirit and Your anointing. We know that Your anointing is truth, and the Holy Spirit teaches us truth. Help us to share the great news of the wonderful gifts You have given us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
