“Never Thirst Again”
“And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” (1 Corinthians 10: 4 KJV)

Devotional: 
Often, God will send us reminders so that we don’t forget just who He is, or what He has done for us. Today’s scripture finds Paul speaking to the church of Corinth and reminding them just who Christ was for the Israelites and who He still was for them. Jesus Christ is the solid rock upon which our salvation stands. Paul admonished the church of Corinth not to fall by the wayside like many of the Israelites did in their own idolatry, but to honor and give reverence to Christ for who He is to them. There are so many distractions all around us each day, and if we are not careful, we can allow those things to keep our focus off the purpose God has placed in our lives. We live in a world of overstimulation and sensationalism. We are bombarded with tragic news, political agendas, and technology overload. However, in all the chaos, we must never forget who Jesus is to us. It is important that we learn to be in the world, but not of the world.

In John 4: 13-14 Jesus lets the Samaritan woman know that the water He provides is unlike the water in the well He has asked her to draw for Him. “Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” Jesus truly, through the gift of the Holy Ghost, has given us everything we need to do His will. Just like the Samaritan woman at the well who ran to tell about her encounter with Jesus, we too must run and tell others about our encounter with Him, and what He has done for us.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the living water that You have given to me. Help me be a witness to Your love, Your mercy, and Your grace so that others will be filled. Amen.
