Miracles, Signs and Wonders

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Mark 16:17-18

Devotion:
Thirty-day tent crusades, two-week tent revivals, shut-ins, three-day fasts, and evangelistic nights were all services designed to have The Holy Spirit perform miracles, signs, and wonders. Those were the days when the sick, lame, and brokenhearted would come to be delivered from their evil spirits. As children, we would be amazed at how The Holy Spirit would move. It was so powerful. I have witnessed people walking in on crutches and left holding them in their hands. I’ve seen people wheeled in wheelchairs and leave pushing the chairs. I’ve seen people get delivered from demonic spirits so to the point that that person would try to climb out of a window because the evil spirit had taken such control of their spirit. That’s what Jesus was referencing in Mark 16:17-18.

He was saying, if those who believe in Him and possess the Holy Spirit, these signs would follow; speaking in unknown tongues, casting out devils in His name, healing the sick in His name, the oppressed would become free in His name. In His name, no evil would come upon those who believe in Him. All these things were evidence of the presence of The Holy Spirit. When He promised us a keeper and a helper, He left us a powerful one; The Holy Spirit and the authority to use His name to deal with the enemy.

As you continue through your Journey to Pentecost, don’t forget the power He left for you to use. You do not have to fight the enemy or deal with anything on your own. Stir up the gift of The Holy Spirit within you. He gave it to us to use at our disposal.

Prayer:
Lord thank You for the wonderful gift of The Holy Spirit that is here to walk in the authority You’ve given us through Your name. In Jesus’ name Amen.
