“Our Comforter”

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26

Devotional:
When Jesus was ministering to His disciples, He promised He would send the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, who would continue to lead and guide them after His ascent. The Holy Ghost would lead them and guide them and as the scripture said – bring all things back to their remembrance. I can attest to this scripture in my daily life as the Holy Ghost has reminded me numerous times of the promises of God as well as comforted me. I tell my daughters the same thing. It may seem silly to some people to ask the Holy Ghost to help you remember what you have studied. But I don’t. I believe what God’s word says and when I need the Holy Ghost to help me with answers to a test, I believe He will remind me of what I have studied.

The disciples were going to face a daunting task – spreading the Gospel without Jesus being present. It was so easy to turn to Him and ask for guidance or clarification, but once He ascended, Jesus knew they would need help in those times that they normally would have come to Him. As we continue our Journey to Pentecost, let us be reminded of the Comforter that was sent to us by Jesus to help us – The Holy Ghost.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the awesome gift of the Holy Ghost. Thank You for sending us help in this present world. Help us to accept the magnificent help and continue to live the life You have set before us.  Holy Spirit, remind us of all the things God has told us to help be a road map for us in this life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
