Like a Tree Planted by Streams of Water

Psalm 1:1-3
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Devotional:
Those who properly respect God’s word will enjoy spiritual prosperity and spiritual success. Our happiness results from our choices to follow God’s direction for our life. Let us look at the word meditate. The definition of meditate is to think deeply or carefully about something; focus one’s mind for a period. Philippians 4:8 says 8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Let’s search the scripture first before we start pondering on our situations. Begin speaking God’s words and thanking Him for giving you peace in your mind. Remember this, the man who trusts in The Lord is blessed. Like a tree that sits beside a never-ending stream of water causing it to have healthy leaves, firm roots, and bearing fruit in its season, so it is for the children of God. We are constantly and consistently drawing from the word of God. We flourish and grow from the “Love water”, The Word of God.

As you go throughout your day, meditate on the word of God as you’ll find all the nourishment you’ll need for that day to grow and produce a consistent harvest.

Prayer:
Lord, I thank you for giving me a thirst to know You more and more and for a willingness to want to grow in Your word. Help me to be like the roots of a tree planted by the water bearing good spiritual fruit in my season and You be glorified in all. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
