Day 14: Spiritual Growth of Congregation
"That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;"

Devotional:
The spiritual health of a congregation is a reflection of its collective journey towards Christ-likeness. Colossians 1:10 encourages us to be "fruitful in every good work" and to grow in our knowledge of God, an imperative for every church member.
So many times, growth is measured by the number of people in the pews. This is not an indication of growth, this is an indication that people are coming to church. An indication of growth is if a sister or brother gained a bit more faith, was able to come out of a storm, got through a rough time. Having 200 bodies in a building and only 10 are maturing and growing spiritually is a failure. The Body of Christ as a whole should be growing spiritually. People should not be “drinking milk” for 10 years - there is a serious disconnect if they are. At some point, people should be feasting on the whole food of the Word and applying it to their everyday lives - this is spiritual growth. People will make mistakes, people will come and go; however, when they come and go, ask the one question - did they grow while they were here?
Take a good look at your church’s ministry. Are people growing spiritually? Ask God to help you to see where you can help someone grow. If you need help, ask God to send you to the right person to help you grow in Him.
Prayer:
Lord, I pray for the spiritual growth of my church family. Help us to grow together in love, unity, and in the knowledge of Your Word. Amen.

Lord, I pray for the spiritual growth of my church family. Help us to grow together in love, unity, and in the knowledge of Your Word. Amen.
