HSM 40-Day Consecration – Day 31

MEDITATE: John 20:11-18
11 But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, 12 And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him. 14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. 18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.

PRAY: 
Jesus, your resurrection power is more mighty than we could ever imagine. I am so thankful that resurrection changes my perspectives and life.

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE:
Sometimes we are faced with difficult situations and various obstacles in our lives. Have you ever been in a situation that you had no idea what to do or who to call? We all have been there, but it’s reassuring to know that our Heavenly Father has the power to resolve any thing that we may be facing. The song comes to mind that says, “God specializes in things that seem impossible.” “He can do what no other power can do.

I’ve often heard it said that “Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity.” It’s in our most difficult moments that we can grab hold of faith, and believe that God is an all-powerful God. Just when you are at what seems to be the end of your rope, about to throw in the towel. Here comes our God with His mighty power to deliver us. His power is demonstrated in the resurrection. The resurrection story shows us Christ ultimately defeating and overcoming death. In doing so, He shows us that He is literally “Undefeated.”

So, knowing that he is our omnipotent father, we don’t have to despair when we are faced with opposition and challenges in this life. We know that God has the power to help us out of anything we come against in this life. Even in our darkest moments, we can rest knowing that the darkest hour is just before day. So, my brothers and sisters, I encourage you when you’re going through life’s difficult moments and situations that we remember the power that God showed through Christ’s resurrection; and always know that there is nothing our God cannot do. Keep the faith and know that He can do what no other power can do.
