HSM 40-Day Consecration – Day 27

DAY 27: Monday, March 20, 2023

MEDITATE:
Romans 10:6-7
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) 7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

PRAY:
Jesus, help me to not fear death, for I know that you have gone ahead and made a way for me into eternal life. I choose today to accept again your great gift of life eternal in heaven with you, and pray that you would give me confidence for every step of my journey until then.

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE:
“I’m living this life, just to live again.” A familiar phrase that we hear often in songs and testimonies. But, how many of us are truly living this life to live again? Many times, people do not like to even talk about dying. I once heard one of my favorite pastors say “Everybody wants to go to Heaven, but nobody wants to die.”

In the scripture today, we are encouraged by the Apostle Paul to remember the hope that we have as believers. That is that one day, we will be caught up to meet our Lord, where we will live with Him for eternity. We are also reminded of this on every First Sunday when we recite our COGIC Affirmation of Faith. “We believe in the blessed hope. Which is the rapture of the church of God, which is in Christ at His return.” So, this lets us know that if we live for God and obey his instructions for our lives, we don’t have to fear death. But, have a hope that one day, we will go to a place where we can have everlasting life. No more sickness. No more trouble. No more heartache. No more crying. No more dying. Glory! One day, everything that we’ve gone through down here will be worth it all.

In my closing, as we approach this Holy Season, let us remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for each and everyone of us. Let us truly begin to live our lives to live again, and we can be assured that one day Jesus will welcome us home in Glory for eternity.
