HSM 40-Day Consecration – Day 22

MEDITATE: Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. PRAY: Redeemer, Lamb of God, he is worthy. Thank you for the Cross, Lord.

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE: Just for ME!
Just for Me! Just for Me! Jesus came and did IT just for ME! As I read our scripture text, these lyrics kept ringing in my spirit. God commanded (gave an authoritative order) his love to act and rescue us. So when I wasn’t even thinking about accepting Christ in my life, God yet loved me enough to sacrifice His only son Just for Me!

People often think they need to get themselves together, or clean up some things before they can accept the Lord as their Savior. When all along not realizing God wants us to come to Him as we are and with a repenting heart. When we do that, He’ll do the cleaning, the washing, the purging, the redeeming, the saving, the delivering, the restoring, and the sanctifying. Verse 6 tells us that when we were without strength (helpless), in due time Christ died for the ungodly (ME). We don’t have the strength to save ourselves. If we did, why would we need a Savior? Christ died to redeem us from our sins, meaning he delivered us and became the sacrificial lamb. He shed his blood on Calvary’s Cross just for me. He endured the shame of the cross just for me (Hebrews 12:1). Yes! He did IT just for ME!

It’s it amazing that God thought about our well-being before we were formed! The Lord told Jeremiah “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 KJV. David says in Psalm 139:17 “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me O God! How great is the sum of them!” WHEW!

Let us always remember how much God really loves us and be willing share that love with others so they too will have the assurance that His love is for everyone. No matter what state they are in, He’s ready to do for them what he has done and IS doing for us.
