MEDITATE: II Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

PRAY:
Lord, do your resurrection work in me. Transform my heart and my life into one that gives you glory and praise in every way. Pull me deeper and bring me closer to your heart.

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE:  “A New Existence”
There’s that word again, “Therefore”. Meaning there is a consequence to something that was previously spoken. Verse 13-15 reminds us that Jesus died for us and we are now reconciled back to God and have a new life in Him. And for that reason, we are now a new creation in Christ. The word creation means, the action or process of bringing something into existence. Jesus’ death brought into existence a new mind, a new internal body, a new way of life for us all.

Do you remember when you first accepted Christ into your heart? You told everyone about your experience and they even noticed how your behavior changed. That’s what Paul is saying to us in verse 17. Old things have passed away. Our old way of existing has passed away. We’re now studying to be more like Jesus with the help of The Holy Spirit. Our character is being developed through trials and tribulations. Anything worth having is worth suffering for.

Behold all things are new. We no longer look the same, we even walk differently.
It takes faith and patience to walk in the newness of Christ. Rely on The Holy Spirit to guide you through your new way of living. The suffering is worth the reward.
