HSM 40 Day Consecration Weekday Devotional
Day 14: Tuesday, March 7, 2023

MEDITATE: Colossians 3:1-5
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

PRAY:
Lord, help me to fight against my sin with your strength. I know that I have already been accepted in Christ, and that one day I will be fully conformed to your glorious image once and for all. Thank you that real change is possible in you

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE:  “Remember the THEREFORE”
Let’s first look at the word “therefore”. According to Webster, therefore means, for that reason or consequently. Now that we know what therefore means, let’s look further into what Paul was reminding us of.

Paul says, because we are raised with Christ (resurrected from sin) we should seek or desire what God has to offer us; (hope and eternal life). We should put our minds on Him, keep our minds on Him and seek Him first, and by doing so, we will be with him in glory. And for this reason, we put to death our members on earth.

Those members are anything that will separate you from The Lord.
It’s those desires that the flesh has that does not glorify God. Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and the pride of Life. Yes, it’s hard, even Paul reminds us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. We are too also, cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us.

What a reward we will gain when we seek God, who is sitting at the right hand of The Father. Submit our ways to His way and die to sin, daily. We’ll all reap the consequential blessings of true submission, and that is eternal Life.
