HSM 40 Day Consecration Weekday Devotional

MEDITATE: Psalm 42:1
As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

PRAY: God, shine a light on the areas of my life where I have selfish motives that draw my attention away from you. Strengthen me as I fast from those things and instead prioritize you.

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE:  “I’m Thirsty”
Have you ever been thirsty, and when you finally got that sip of water you can feel it going through your entire body? You’re like, “man I needed that!” Medical professionals say that humans can only survive three days without water. But how long can we survive without Christ.

In this scripture David expresses his need to be with the Lord, like a deer whose thirsty for water and will not stop at nothing to get it. David reminds us that our desire to with The Lord and spend time with Him, should be of such urgency that we too will go through all means necessary to have that experience with Him and to get to know Him better.

Our desire to be with The Lord and feel His presence is just like water. Yes, our body can go three days without water, but our souls’ cannot go one day without The Lord. Let’s drink from the fountain that never runs dry and you’ll never be thirsty.
