“Give Me A Clean Heart”
Scripture: Psalm 51:10, NIV

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

Devotion:
Our hearts are at the center of everything we do. When our hearts aren’t right, we aren't right. That is why the Word of God lets us know, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” (Proverbs 4:23 NIV) Our hearts are the wellspring of our lives; whatever we allow inside it will eventually shape us. Our words, habits, and actions all stem from our hearts. The Word declares in Matthew 12:34-35, “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.”

 Our hearts aren't naturally good; we have to allow them to be made over and filled with the love of God in order for them to be changed and made new. God wants to take our heart of stone and give us a heart of flesh.

Today’s Scripture declares, “Create in me a clean heart, Oh God, and renew a right spirit within me.” We can’t allow unhealed hurt, disappointment, unforgiveness, and pain to clutter our arteries. We have to daily repent, obey, submit to, and seek God so that HIs will can be done in our lives. God has to be at the center of our hearts in all that we say and do.

Prayer:
Lord, please continue to cleanse and strengthen my heart daily. Help me keep my mind stayed on You. Let Your love rest, rule, and abide in my heart. Amen.
