“Empowered by God’s Strength”
 Scripture: Colossians 1:11, NIV
 
“being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,”

Devotion:
Paul’s prayer in this Scripture was for the believers in Colossae, it was not a prayer for comfort or ease, but for strength, God’s strength. This power Paul prayed about was for endurance and patience in everyday life - to keep going when circumstances were hard and waiting felt long. It was so that they could live worthy lives that were pleasing to God.

The power of God works within us today to help us remain faithful under pressure, to be gentle in trials, and steadfast in hope. Having endurance keeps us standing; and patience keeps our hearts right while we stand. Both of these are gifts that flow from our Father, not from our own efforts.

This verse reminds us, as fruit bearers, that spiritual strength is not measured by how much we can do, but by how faithfully we trust God through the process. When we rely on His power, we will discover His peace, and that will carry us through every season of our lives as we do His will with joyful hearts.

Prayer:
Father, we ask that You strengthen us today with Your power. When we grow tired or discouraged, fill us with endurance and patience that come from You alone. Help us to trust Your strength at work in us and to faithfully do Your will.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
