“Not by Accident”
Scripture: Ephesians 2:10, NKJV

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

Devotion:
Ephesians 2:10 reminds us of something we often forget: you are not an accident — you are a masterpiece. Paul says we are God’s workmanship, His intentional creation, shaped by His hands and designed with purpose. The word Paul uses means “poem,” “artwork,” or “masterpiece.” That means your life is not random. Your story is not wasted. Your personality, your gifts, your experiences — even the painful ones — are woven together by God with meaning.

But Paul doesn’t stop at identity; he moves to purpose. You were created in Christ Jesus for good works. Not works to earn salvation — Christ already secured that. These are works that flow from salvation. Works that reflect His heart. Works that bless others. Works that shine His light. And here’s the beautiful part: God prepared them beforehand. Before you were born, He already planned the impact your life would make. Before you faced your battles, He already prepared the victories. Before you walked into your calling, He already shaped the path.

Today, rest in this truth: You are God’s masterpiece, and your life carries divine purpose. You don’t have to force it. You don’t have to compare yourself. You simply walk in what God has already prepared. Every step you take in obedience reveals more of the beauty He placed in you.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for creating me with purpose. Help me see myself as Your workmanship and walk confidently in the good works You prepared for me. Shape my steps, guide my heart, and let my life reflect Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
