“How You Sow Is How You Will Reap”
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:6-10

“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)”

Devotion:
The principle of sowing and reaping is woven throughout God’s Word. In today’s Scriptures, Paul reminds us that what we sow — whether in our attitude, generosity, time, love, obedience, or faith — will eventually produce a harvest. And that harvest is not only represented by the seed sown, but also in how it is sown. God loves a cheerful giver. He desires hearts that give willingly and trust Him completely. When we sow grudgingly, fearfully, or selfishly, we limit what God wants to do in and through us. But when we sow in faith, believing that God is our provider, we open the door for His abundance and blessing.

Giving is not just about finances; it is about living with an open heart before God. Every kind word, every act of obedience, every prayer, every seed of encouragement, and every sacrifice made for God’s kingdom carries eternal value. God never asks us to give from emptiness without promising His sustaining grace. When we sow generously into His kingdom, He not only blesses us but also makes us a blessing to others.

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to give with a cheerful heart, knowing that You are my provider and sustainer. Help me to remember that every seed planted in faith has purpose and value in Your kingdom.  Thank You for always supplying what I need and for being the God who brings increase in Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
