Daily Devotional - The Finished Work - 2026 Month of Prayer - Day 25 - 9/25/26 - "Send Me"

“Send Me”
Scripture: Isaiah 6:8, NIV

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, Here am I. Send me!”

Devotion:
Can God trust you to obey Him enough to go when He says go or to move when He says move? Can He trust you to speak what He tells you to speak? In today’s scriptural context, the prophet Isaiah in a vision finds himself standing before God. The first thing Isaiah acknowledges is how unworthy he is before God. He says, I’m unclean.  Then the seraphim takes a hot coal, and he touches Isaiah's lips in order to purify him before God. God then asks, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” Isaiah responds, “Here I am, send me!”

Can God send you this morning? Can He trust you to carry out His will and deliver it to the people in need? Isaiah, after acknowledging his own unworthiness and being purified before God, immediately gave God a yes. The Word of God lets us know the harvest is plenty, but the laborers are few. When we answer the call of God, we have to put away anything that hinders our faith in God. We take up our cross and ‌follow Jesus. Just like the disciples, they dropped everything they knew and faithfully answered the call of the Savior. God has a purpose and a plan for our lives, but He’s not forcing His will on us. He’s waiting to see if our faith in Him is enough for us to say, Lord, send me!

Prayer:
Lord, we humbly submit to Your will for our lives. You have our yes, God. Yes, we will serve and obey You. We will answer and heed Your call. Yes, You can send us. Amen.
