“He Has Done Great Things”
Scripture: Psalm 126:3
 
“The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.”

Devotion:
It is said that this Psalm was sung by the ancient Israelites. They were looking back at the time when God brought them back from captivity and exile in Babylon.  As children of God it should be a reminder to us of the great and mighty things that the Lord has delivered us from as well. When we take the time to look back over our lives and reminisce on where the Lord has brought us from, our response should be that of gratefulness.

We often become so focused on the things we are waiting for God to do for us, that we forget to thank God for what He has already done. We should never take for granted the many ways God has already blessed, protected, strengthened, provided, and sustained us. Every door He has opened, every burden He has carried, and every time He has given us strength to keep going is another reason to give Him the praise, glory and honor that He deserves.

Let’s take a moment each day and intentionally reflect on the wonderful things the Lord has done, and declare as this Psalm says, “The Lord has done great things for us!” And because of who He is and what He has already done, let’s continually give Him the praise.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for all the great things You have done for us. Thank You for Your grace, mercy, protection, provision, and love. Forgive us for the times we have focused so much on what we need that we have forgotten to thank You for who You are and what You have already done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
