“The Tree of Life”
Scripture: Revelation 22:1-2, AMP

“Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Christ), in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

Devotion:
Today’s Scriptures give believers a breathtaking glimpse of God's eternal kingdom. John describes a river of the water of life flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb, symbolizing the endless supply of God's life, presence, and blessing as well as the Tree of Life, which bears fruit in every season and offering healing to the nations. The Tree of Life first appeared in the Garden of Eden before sin entered the world. Because of humanity's disobedience, access to that tree was lost. Yet through Jesus Christ, the second Adam, what was lost has been restored.

The tree's continual fruitfulness teaches us an important lesson for today. Those who remain rooted in Christ can bear spiritual fruit in every season of life. Whether we experience joy or sorrow, abundance or hardship, the life of Christ within us enables us to remain fruitful. The leaves of the tree are described as bringing healing to the nations. In God's eternal kingdom there will be no more division, suffering, disease, pain, or death. This hope gives believers courage to persevere through present trials, knowing that a glorious future awaits all who belong to Him.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the glorious hope You have prepared for all who trust in Jesus Christ. Help me to remain deeply rooted in Christ each day. Nourish my soul through Your Word, refresh me by Your Spirit, and enable me to bear fruit that honors You in every season of life. Until that glorious day, keep my heart steadfast, my faith strong, and my eyes fixed upon You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
