Author: Evangelist Crystal Poston

“He Knows My Name”
Scripture: Isaiah 40:26

"Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth."

Devotion:
This verse reminds us of God’s greatness. God spoke through the prophet Isaiah, calling His people to lift their eyes toward the heavens and consider the marvelous works of His hands. He did not create the stars that fill the sky by chance, but by His wisdom and power, and He knows each one by name, and every star is accounted for.

What an amazing reminder that the same God who created Heaven and earth watches over us daily! If God knows every star by name, I am confident that He knows each of us by name. He knows our struggles and the desires of our hearts. Nothing about our lives is hidden from our all-knowing and all-powerful Father. Sometimes, we face issues that can cause us to focus more on our problems than on the greatness of our God. Yes we may become discouraged when situations appear impossible or the burdens of life become overwhelming. But Isaiah encourages us in this verse to shift our focus from what is happening around us to the One who reigns above all things.

Our faith must remain rooted in the truth that God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present. We must trust that the God who spoke creation into existence is more than able to strengthen, sustain, and guide us through every season of life. However, trusting in God's power does not mean that we will never face difficulties. It means that through prayer, and faith in Him we are able to walk by faith and not by sight.

Let us continue to look to Him and worship Him with all of our heart, placing total confidence in Him. There is no one like our God!

Prayer:
Father, thank You for being the great and mighty Creator of Heaven and earth. Help me to lift my eyes above life's challenges and place my complete focus and trust in You. Strengthen me when I grow weary, and renew my hope when I become discouraged, and remind me daily that I can depend on You because You care for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
